What makes our cider so special? It’s all in the method...

How We
MAKE MAGNERS

We use fresh apples when making Magners Irish cider. Seventeen carefully selected varieties are grown in our beautiful Irish orchards and local farms. We use only natural products.

Only the ripest, juiciest apples are selected. Then we give them a good old scrub and when it comes to getting the juice out of them we’re still taking inspiration from the historic methods we used when we started making cider back in 1935.

The pure, golden juice is then fermented using the unique yeast from the oak vats of our Dowd’s Lane Cider Mill. Then we leave our cider to mature and develop for up to two years.

Our master tasters, including Billy who has been with us for 35 years, keep a constant check on the whole process to ensure each sip of Magners cider is as grand as the last.
